Location
Situated 5 miles south of Cromer in rural North Norfolk, Deer's Glade Cottage is in a quiet location on a farm, yet with easy access from the A140. It is convenient for visiting the coast, the Broads or the market towns of North Walsham, Aylsham, Sheringham and Holt. The historic city of Norwich is only 20 minutes away by car and many stately homes are also within easy reach.
From the Cottage guests can walk through our woodland walk, past the oranamental waterfowl ponds to view the various species of duck, goose and swan and up to our Muntjac Meadow where there is a fenced dog exercise area.
Deer are bred on the neighbouring Gunton Estate which also offers fishing, along with Deer's Glade Caravan and Camping Park only half a mile from Deer's Glade Cottage. The Weavers Way ramblers' route from Cromer to Great Yarmouth passes through the adjacent parishes of Hanworth and Alby, making Deer's Glade Cottage the perfect base for either serious or leisurely walking.
For the cyclist, a short 5 mile drive to Aylsham will bring you to the start of the Marriots Way. This is a disused railway line, now a cycle route, which runs from Aylsham, via Reepham, to Norwich. Also from Aylsham, running in the opposite direction, is the Bure Valley Way which runs alongside the narrow gauge railway through to the village of Wroxham on the Norfolk Broads.
